I/O Bus Controller features Ethernet cabling.
EX484 consists of EX481 with integrated 4X hub. Tree or star network topologies can be implemented in accordance with Fast Ethernet standard on which ETHERNET Powerlink is based. Cabling between individual Powerlink stations occurs using Cat 5 cables, which allows maximum distance of 100 m between 2 nodes. EX484 supports all standard I/O modules for System 2003.

System 2003 modules can be integrated in Powerlink network. With Ethernet Powerlink, cycle times of 400 microseconds with maximum network jitter of less than 1 microsecond are possible.
