Original Press Release:

CAN-USB Intelligent CAN Connection from USB Port!

Pittsford, New York. CAN-USB(TM) is a new, compact, cost-effective solution for adding a CANbus connection via a USB connection. Unlike simpler competitors, CAN-USB(TM) provides a plug'n'play opto-isolated SJA1000 CAN controller with 128kB of on-board Flash and 128kB SRAM memory for storing and running software inside, without burdening the PC's processor. Firmware even can be upgraded over the USB bus. CAN interface is via a standard 9-pin DIN connector.

Housed in a rugged metal enclosure 2" x 2" 0.7", CAN-USB(TM) is powered solely by the USB connection, so no AC adaptor is needed. Software features include control of CANbus termination, and drivers for Windows xP/2K (Linux and QNX drivers will be available in June 2004). Also supplied with CAN-USB(TM) is full documentation on CD, as well as a CANbus analyzing tool for Windows xP/2K.

CAN-USB(TM) comes with its own CAN-Layer-2 Interface, which is the same used on high-level devices such as Janz' CAN-megaBOX, and the software package is compatible with Janz' other offerings such as VMOD-ICAN3.

Available from stock, CAN-USB(TM) is $249.00 from Saelig Co. Inc. NY 585-385-1750; 585-385-1768fax; info@saelig.com; www.saelig.com.
