I/O Systems connect sensors and actuators to control.

Press Release Summary:

With SERCOS III Block I/O Digital and Analog Systems, sensors and actuators can be connected to control system through SERCOS III universal bus. Digital unit has 16 fast digital inputs and 16 combined fast inputs or outputs. Analog model has 4 inputs and 2 outputs, each individually configurable. Inputs allow differential registration of analog current and/or voltage signals or detection of temperature signals, while outputs permit connection of current or voltage actuators.

Original Press Release:

Easy Integration of I/O Signals with Bosch Rexroth SERCOS III Block I/O

With SERCOS III Block I/O Digital and SERCOS III Block I/O Analog, Rexroth now enables connection of sensors and actuators to the higher-level control system through one uniform network: the universal bus SERCOS III. This greatly reduces development, installation and commissioning time making it possible to implement a consistent, capable, and cost-effective overall automation system.

(Hoffman Estates, IL - www.boschrexroth-us.com) The compact SERCOS III Block I/O Digital device from Bosch Rexroth's Electric Drives and Controls division has 16 fast digital inputs and 16 combined fast inputs or outputs. Each single channel can be used both as input or output. The function of the particular I/O channel is only defined by the connected actuator or sensor, allowing SERCOS III Block I/O Digital to adjust to the individual requirements of the particular application.

The SERCOS III Block I/O Analog has four inputs and two outputs, each of which can be configured individually. The four inputs allow differential registration of analog current and/or voltage signals or the detection of temperature signals from resistance thermometers (also called resistance temperature detectors, RTDs). The two outputs permit connection of current or voltage actuators. With their 16-bit resolution, the differential current and voltage inputs provide high accuracy. In connection with fast process data operation, SERCOS III Block I/O Analog is particularly suited for applications in the technical testing and regulating fields.

The small size of the SERCOS III Block I/O housing in IP20 degree of protection allows installation in small terminal boxes or in switch cabinets.
