cPCI - CAN - 4 Channel CAN Interface for CompactPCI Systems



Pittsford, New York. cPCI-CAN is a new CAN interface with up to 4 CAN bus channels for 6U CompactPCI systems, featuring Philips' SJA1000 widely-used CAN controller on each channel. Each CAN interface has a MC68332 microcontroller, providing powerful and safe communication on CAN networks. This relieves the host CPU from the stack protocol burden.

cPCI-CAN boards feature up to 4 intelligent CAN channels, and have a 3.3V and 5V PCI interface. Diagnostic front panel LEDs assist with status indication, and the boards come with ICANOS firmware, which supports Layer 2 CAN communication. Industry-standard CANopen capability is also available. CAN connection is via the front panel or cPCI connector.

Connection for the 4 channels can also optionally be via a fibre optic connection (using CAN-OPTOkit), giving an isolated and noise-immune CAN link of up to 300m.

Standard operating system support is available for Windows, Linux and QNX (others on request).
