EPIC (Electric Potential Integrated Circuit) Sensor measures electric field changes without physical or resistive contact. Speed at which this product measures electric potential sources will simplify medical ECG/EKG/EEG/EOG, movement sensing, proximity non-touch switching, and gesture recognition signal taking. As it does not need line of sight, sensor can detect movement through solid walls and used to replace, or as adjunct to, PIR sensors.

Electric Potential Integrated Circuit (EPIC) sensor, part No. PS25401, detects changes in electric field and provides output to relay to act as non-touch electric switch. Optimized for security, switching, and gaming applications, sensor can be used in proximity mode or to detect specific kinds of movement as limited gesture recognition device.
