They produce small, uniform, high intensity spot, come in 9.5 to 50 mm dia sizes, and provide light intensity from 0.5 to 150 W. For high output applications, dichroic reflectors are available, which let wavelengths longer than 700 nm pass through to reduce heat. Light sources can be supplied with lamps permanently bonded into reflector or with threaded lamp holder.
