September 19, 2006 - Mounted to machine coolant tank, Coolant Control Center (CCC) provides continuous real time in-line monitoring of coolant, measuring coolant concentration, PH, conductivity, temperature, and volume. System features PLC for coolant correction and programming routines for precise maintenance of machining fluids. Measuring 16.92 x 38.89 x 11.92 in., CCC has ¾ in. water inlet union and works with 220 V 2-phase electric connector or 400 V 3-phase power hookup.

Coolant Condition & Control Center from Mayfran Debuts at IMTS '06

Mayfran International (Cleveland, OH) introduced many new coolant and chip handling technologies and systems at the 2006 IMTS exhibition...among the products highlighted in the display was the new Coolant Control Center (CCC) for monitoring machining coolant volumes and mix ratios. The CCC was developed to maximize machine tool productivity, output quality and tool life by optimizing the properties and performance of the machine's coolant or cutting lubricant. CCC provides continuous real time in-line monitoring of coolant rather than trying to regulate coolant conditions manually over longer periods as physical properties are degraded and concentration ratios depleted.

The CCC is a compact unit that mounts on virtually any machine's coolant tank and its values are coolant concentration, PH, conductivity, temperature and volume.
The Coolant Control Center features its own integral PLC for coolant correction and programming routines for precise maintenance of machining fluids. The control unit can also include storage capacity for logging in and maintaining condition measurement results and values over time.

The Coolant Control Center's enclosure measures just 430mm W x 988mm H x 303mm D (16.92" x 38.89" x 11.92"), has a 3/4" water inlet union and works with either a 220 Volt - 2 Phase electric connection or a 400 Volt - 3 Phase power hookup.

The Mayfran IMTS exhibit also included a variety of filtration and chip handling technologies such as the VacuFilter for operations requiring fine coolant separation, the VBU chip wringer for drying chips and recovering residual coolant and a ConSep combination chip conveyor/coolant cleaning unit. A video of the FastPac Briquetter was shown and to optimize machine tool chip/coolant handling, components of the overhead-installed Viavent® centralized system for multi-machine use were demonstrated.
