Voltage Controlled Crystal Oscillator fits SONET applications.

Press Release Summary:

MPV3 (3.3 V) and MPV5 (5.0 V) series 800 MHz VCXOs are suitable for stability and aging requirements of SONET/STM, Fibre Channel, Ethernet, and Optical Carrier applications, and meet requirements of Forward Error Correction (FEC) applications. Both are supplied in 9 x 14 mm surface mount package with single and dual complementary PECL outputs, and are available in frequencies of 1 to 800 MHz. They have 20 ppm stability with 2 ps typical jitter performance.

Original Press Release:

M-tron Offers 800 MHz PECL/LVDS Voltage Controlled Crystal Oscillators in a 9 x 14 mm Surface Mount Package

M-tron Industries, Inc. is announcing immediate availability of Voltage Controlled Crystal Oscillators with frequency capability up to 800 MHz.

These two new families of Voltage Controlled Crystal Oscillators are ideally suited for the stringent stability and aging requirements of SONET/STM, Fibre Channel, Ethernet, and Optical Carrier applications. These products also meet the requirements of Forward Error Correction (FEC) applications.

Available in frequencies between 1 MHz and 800 MHz, the MPV3 (3.3 V) and MPV5 (5.0 V) series offer the designer flexibility in operating parameters such as ±20 ppm stability over operating temperature, with 2 ps typical jitter performance for even the most demanding applications. These devices are packaged in an industry standard 9 x 14 mm surface mount package and offer both single and dual complementary PECL outputs. The MPV3 (3.3 V) series is also available with LVDS output.

According to Greg Rogers, VP of Engineering, "These products offer tremendous flexibility to the design engineering community. The temperature stability vs. jitter is ideal for SONET and fiber optic applications."

Pricing for the MPV3 and MPV5 series at frequencies such as 622.08 and 666.51429MHz (FEC) start at $49.00 in quantities of 1,000 pieces. Delivery is stock to 3 weeks.
