Original Press Release:

New Light-Cured Adhesives for Bonding or Protecting

DANVERS, MA - New light-cured Tru-Bond Series adhesives from Devcon cure in seconds when exposed to ultraviolet light, whether direct sunlight or a special UV lamp. Perfect for instant bonding or coating of glass, aluminum, steel, ceramics, plastics, and other dissimilar substrates in a wide range of OEM applications, these high-tech adhesives offer innovative curing schedules and produce exceptionally flexible bonds that withstand service temperatures from 65° to 225° F.

Available in three viscosities from 205 to 75,000 cps, Tru-Bond 18100 Glass, Metal and Ceramic Bonding Series adhesives form hard, durable, high-strength bonds on glass, metal, and ceramics. All three formulations are easily dispensed with a syringe applicator or spray mist dispenser.

Tru-Bond 18200 Plastic Bonder Series adhesives form permanent yet flexible (450% elongation) impact-resistant bonds on many plastics, including ABS, polycarbonate, and acrylic. Three formulations - with viscosities from 810 to 80,000 cps - are easily dispensed with a syringe applicator or spray mist dispenser and can be cured through translucent substrates. They also make an excellent mar-resistant surface for plastics.

Tru-Bond 18300 Protective Coating Series adhesives dry to form clear, hard finishes that prevent the marring or scratching of decals, tags, emblems, etc. Tru-Bond 18300 is thick (2240 cps) for adding decorative "dome coatings" to decals mounted on metal or glass. Tru-Bond 18305 is less viscous (750 cps) and is ideal for creating thin coatings (0.1-0.5 mil) on thin, flexible substrates such as polycarbonate sheets. Both adhesives are easily applied by hand or with automated dispensers.
