Southco Introduces Latch Featuring Turn-To-Open Convenience And Lockable Security For Outdoor And Marine Applications
Concordville, PA, March 10, 2005 A newly introduced wing-knob-style latch from Southco enhances the speed and simplicity of push-to-close operations with turn-to-open convenience for frequently accessed doors or panels. In addition to fully corrosion-resistant construction that makes it suitable for marine glove boxes and other outdoor uses, the latch also provides keylocking security that is compatible with some marine ignition keys.
Modern styling with knob color options of white, gray, or black complement a wide variety of end-use designs. The ergonomic wing-knob makes it comfortable to grasp, unlatch, and open all with one smooth motion. Latches are shipped with standard brass keys, or with optional overmolded keys for enhanced grip. Once unlocked, the latch can be engaged and disengaged repeatedly. It can always be conveniently slammed closed even when in the locked position.
The latch installs easily into a single mounting hole. The spring-loaded sliding cam and an adjustable keeper provide for a snug fit to minimize door rattle. Acetal knobs, glass-reinforced acetal lock-plug bodies, and passivated stainless steel keepers, springs, and lockwashers provide true corrosion-resistant performance. Locks are keyed alike, with different key codes available.
This new turn-to-open operating style available from stock expands upon a series of existing Southco push-to-close latch mechanisms that feature push-button opening, optional pull tabs, and optional keylocks.
