Irvine, CA - November 14, 2006 - Toshiba Imaging Systems Division
(www.cameras.toshiba.com). a division of Toshiba America and a leader in advanced imaging technologies has partnered with Apollo Telemedicine (Falls Church, VA) to provide an innovative, real-time diagnostic system for scientists and pathologists. Apollo's ASAP Imaging® integrates Toshiba's 3CCD IK-TU51 camera controller and camera head to provide real-time, high resolution images from under a microscope and deliver them via the internet, intranet or other network. The product partnership between Toshiba Imaging and Apollo Telemedicine revolutionizes medical diagnostics in pathology. The pathologist is able to stream, in real-time, high resolution digital images of the slide viewed through the eyepiece, and share the image via internet video streaming or other real-time networking methods. The innovative ASAP Imaging system allows the pathologist to view the slide movement under the objective, providing the same view as looking through the oculars.

"The Toshiba 3CCD camera line shows movement up to 30 frames per second. In frame rate, this is unmatched by cameras currently used in most medical imaging and diagnostics services," notes CEO Mark Newburger of Apollo Telemedicine. He continues, "At Apollo, we pride ourselves on providing the best laboratory imaging solution for pathologists and lab managers across North America. Using the Toshiba IK-TU51 camera, we can produce the absolute fastest streaming images, and produce higher quality images for use in our ASAP Imaging software. This unique imaging system helps doctors make quicker diagnoses, receive immediate second opinions, and consult or confer from anywhere in the world, from microscope to desktop computer, all in real-time!"

Toshiba's National Sales Manager Vince Giovinco, comments, "The camera integrated into Apollo's revolutionary new telemedical diagnostic system is based on the same advanced technology as Toshiba Imaging Systems Division's IK-TF camera series, featuring the three chip camera IT-CCD sensor and an RGB micro prism system for accurate, computer-ready color images. We are very pleased to partner with Apollo's ASAP Imaging software to provide the highest quality in digital imaging for lab and diagnostic applications. It's a remarkable breakthrough in scientific imaging."
