Vishays New CDHV Thick Film Chip Resistor Dividers Deliver < 0.03 % Ratio Stability With Voltages Up to 3 kV
MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA - January 13, 2006 - Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today announced the CDHV, a surface-mount chip resistor divider with a small size profile that achieves outstanding ratio stability under high voltages. The new resistor divider is designed for use in high-voltage power supplies, power switching equipment, and inverter controls.
Manufactured with an alumina substrate, the CDHV is capable of handling voltages up to 3 kV, with a voltage coefficient down to 5 ppm/V. It provides resistance values of 1 megohm to 20 gigohms that are available in a broad range of standard and custom resistance ratios from 10:1 to 500:1, with outstanding ratio stability of < 0.03 % at full power and 70 °C at 2,000 hours. Absolute resistance tolerance options range from 20 % down to 1 %, with ratio tolerance options to 1 %. Its temperature coefficient of resistance is available to 100 ppm/°C over a -55 °C to +150 °C operating range.
The CDHV is housed in a small 2512 case and has a choice of top-only and wraparound terminations. Dimensions of the top-only resistor divider are 0.240 in. by 0.126 in. [6.10 mm by 3.20 mm] with a profile of 0.025 in. [0.635 mm]. The wraparound version has a slightly increased length of 0.250 in. [6.35 mm]. Both versions are available in tape-and-reel packaging.
Samples and production quantities of the new CDHV resistor divider are available now, with lead times of six to eight weeks for larger orders. Pricing for U.S. delivery in 1,000-piece quantities starts at $1.95 per piece.
