VTI's New High-Accuracy Temperature and Voltage Instrument Ensures Total Measurement Flexibility



Irvine, CA - April 2, 2009 VTI Instruments Corporation announced today its new
EX1000A-TC high-performance temperature and voltage instrument.

As the newest member of VTI's EX1000A product series, this 48-channel precision instrument is designed to measure temperature and voltage with very high accuracy (typically 0.2 C), while utilizing LXI Class A technology to enable distributed measurements and the synchronization of multiple instruments.

The EX1000A-TC is a powerful instrument capable of measuring high-accuracy temperature or voltage from any channel, said Chris Gibson, Data Acquisition Business Development Manager. This flexibility will provide our customers with a single solution for all of their voltage or temperature measurement needs.

Multiple features keep the EX1000A-TC well above the competition. The standard Cu-Cu mini TC provides a user-friendly interface that simplifies the connection of multiple measurements with a single connector. For temperature measurements, the EX1000A-TC utilizes VTI's proprietary cold junction compensation techniques to provide a very stable reference junction. This minimizes temperature errors and allows connection to any thermocouple type (J, K, T, E, S, B, R, N, and custom).

The EX1000A-TC provides signal conditioning and allows test engineers to take advantage of programmable low-pass filters and other features to improve performance. It also has the ability to convert raw measurements directly into engineering units.

This easy-to-use hardware solution enables a direct connection to transducers as well as open circuit detection to minimize wiring mistakes and testing errors. It also provides a common platform for multiple measurement types. The ability to measure the two most common types of signals on any channel (temperature and voltage) helps reduce costs by eliminating the need for multiple instrument types.

The EX1000A-TC is ideal for engine test cells that require the high measurement accuracy and high data rates necessary to properly test and characterize new designs and verify units for production. The EX1000A-TC also targets general purpose temperature testing applications such as thermal cycling and HALT/HASS testing by providing users with a simple, easy-to-use instrument.
