Eurotherm Releases the K1 Series: a Range of Customizable OEM Panel Controllers
LEESBURG, VA, USA, 16 August, 2004 - Eurotherm, a leading manufacturer and supplier of industrial instrumentation for process control and data acquisition products, and a unit of Invensys plc, announces the release of the K1 Series of customizable OEM panel controllers. The K1 Series is a unique temperature controller designed to be customized for seamless integration into OEM equipment such as chambers, chillers, dryers, and process equipment. The K1 will be attractive to OEM equipment manufacturers who desire an aesthetically pleasing controller with an ergonomically sound design and custom functionality. Such design will give the OEM's product far more appeal than can be achieved by using traditional DIN sized controllers.
The K1 Series customizable controllers offer temperature control that incorporates electronic assemblies, which mount behind a panel, and are accessed via a custom overlay designed by the OEM. The K1A, K1B, K1D and K1E offer a two-board electronic platform (CPU plus Display) from which customization can begin. Each of these controllers feature an advanced PID control algorithm supported by electronic circuitry for multiple control outputs, alarm outputs, contact inputs, process input, etc. For this range of controllers, display boards and CPU firmware can be customized as needed.
Within the K1 Series of customizable controllers, Eurotherm has incorporated a number of advanced features. The K1 Series incorporate Eurotherm's adaptive SMART(tm) auto-tuning algorithm. An internal timer permits control-based functions to be integrated with time-based control requirements. A 2-point calibration routine reduces equipment manufacturing time for those OEMs that require calibration offsets for true temperature measurement. The K1 Series customizable controllers can be programmed from the display board, or with Eurotherm's iTools Engineering Studio.
