With 24 10/100 ports; two ports for easy CAT-5 cabled stacking that can, alternatively, be used as Gigabit uplink ports; and two combination Gigabit/SFP ports, the new TigerStack IV SMC6224M switches were designed with management, security, efficiency and extensive flexibility and expandability in mind. Economical, too, the new TigerStack IV 10/100 Stackable 24-port 10/100 +2 +2 Switch (SMC6224M) is available now, at an MSRP of just $399.99.

Ideal for workgroup environments with growth potential and/or high bandwidth requirements, the new SMC6224M TigerStack IV Stackable 24-port Switch can operate in a stack of up to 8 units with two Gigabit uplinks each, or, where more bandwidth is a greater concern, stacking ports can be converted to additional Gigabit uplink ports. Easy to install and manage via the included EliteView management utility, the SMC6224M is packed with features that make it perfect for today's growing workgroup switching environment.

The new TigerStack IV SMC6224M has all of the advanced security and traffic control features that today's businesses require, and more, with Access Control List (ACL), RADIUS and SSL support, as well as 4-queue QoS and VLAN support with GVRP, TACACS+, and IEEE 802.1w and 802.1s. Its robust management features include RMON and SNMPv2, with future upgradeability to SNMPv3.

"We engineered the new SMC6224M for the growing and evolving workgroup network," said SMC Product Manager, Iain Kenney. "Starting out, an economical choice, this switch is in it for the long-haul - it's future-proofed - with the flexibility to have as many as four Gigabit ports per switch or to stack up to eight-high. And advanced security and simple management are built-in, making it a solid base for any growing network."

The new TigerStack IV Stackable 24-port 10/100 +2 Stacking Ports +2 1000BaseT/SFP Combo Ports Managed Switch and its associated expansion modules and uplinks are available now.
