Spray Unit produces controlled, predictable results.

Press Release Summary:

Based on PurgeX® technology, Spray Unit utilizes positive displacement pumps in high-speed alternating pattern to produce sustained spray. Pumps are 4 in. tall and cycle with aid of compressed air. Volume and frequency of dispensing is adjustable by operator. In addition to PurgeX pumps, spray unit comes equipped with 4-way air solenoid, timer, air regulator, and air gauge. It is suited for applications such as mineral oil, lubricants, and cleaning solvents.

Original Press Release:

"Precision Spray for Industrial Fluids"

(November 5, 2007 - Manitowoc, WI) Oil-Rite Corporation has introduced a new method of spraying industrial fluids that produces a highly controlled and predictable result. It utilizes compact positive displacement pumps in a high-speed alternating pattern to produce a sustained spray. The invention was originally intended for use with weld spatter fluid in an automated production line. It has been adapted to such fluids as mineral oil, lubricants, cleaning solvents, and other industrial fluids.
The spray unit utilizes the technology of PurgeX®. PurgeX® is widely used in industry to dispense fluids in very small, precise increments. The 4 inch tall pumps cycle (pump) with the aid of compressed air. The volume and frequency of dispensing is adjustable by the operator.

PurgeX® dispenses in short pulses. To achieve a continuous flow, two PurgeX® pumps are connected into a single output and cycled at the rate of twice per second per pump. The pumps utilize positive displacement, which ensures a precise amount of fluid is channeled to the spray nozzle.

The mechanics of the PurgeX® spray unit offer several practical advantages:
o The fluid does not typically need to be supplied under pressure. This simplifies operation and reduces the potential for variation in delivery.
o Both fluid and air are supplied to the nozzle through a single coaxial tube. There is no need for a separate regulated air source at the nozzle.
o The mechanics of the PurgeX® pumps create a consistent flow rate, resulting in a predictable spray pattern and less wasted fluid.
o The unit itself is compact and can be mounted in small areas. The flexible spray hose reaches into tight spaces and can be installed a distance of 10 feet or more from the other components.
o The pumps have an evacuation valve that instantly stops the flow of fluid when the unit is turned off. The fluid does not drain from the line and there is no residual drip.

The unit has the advantage of not only supplying a predictable spray, but is also extremely reliable over time. PurgeX® pumps have been tested to over 360 million cycles in laboratory tests without appreciable wear.

In addition to the PurgeX® pumps, the unit comes equipped with a 4-way air solenoid, timer, air regulator, and air gage. Fluid can be supplied by a simple gravity-fed reservoir.

Oil-Rite Corporation has manufactured lubrication equipment since 1933. It produces reservoirs, drip oilers, liquid level gages, flow sights, flow control valves, and circulating oil systems. PurgeX® technology is patented by Oil-Rite and is available as a stand alone unit or as part of a multi-feed centralized lubrication system.
