Spray Gun provides high pressure in compact design.

Press Release Summary:

Model XTR(TM) Airless Spray Gun provides up to 7,250 psi for applying high-solids coatings, especially on hard-to-reach surfaces. Light trigger pull enables users to apply single or plural component coatings comfortably without compromising high-pressure output. Large fluid passages reduce pressure-drop for consistent spraying. Trigger guard and lock reduce errors and help prevent injuries caused by accidental triggering.

New Protective Coatings Gun Delivers High Pressure In a Compact Design

Compact, ergonomic design reduces operator fatigue, improves productivity

MINNEAPOLIS - November 5, 2002 - Protective coatings contractors have traditionally sacrificed size and comfort in order to use high-pressure spray guns. Graco Inc. (NYSE: GGG) eliminates this unproductive tradeoff with its XTR(TM) Airless Spray Gun. With up to 7,250 (psi) pressure rating, the five-inch-long XTR packs high-solid spraying power in a compact, ergonomic design for comfortably applying tough coatings-especially on applications with hard-to-reach surfaces.

"Operators applying high-solids coatings often are forced to use large, heavy spray guns because of pressure requirements," said Brian Zumbolo, worldwide product marketing manager, Protective Coatings Equipment, Graco. "The equipment increases operator fatigue, which ultimately lowers productivity. The XTR design is a compact alternative to traditional spray guns, allowing operators to work longer while optimizing productivity and application quality."

Compact design improves maneuverability. The gun's extremely short head makes the XTR easy-to-maneuver, allowing operators to reach into tight spraying areas. Two trigger-size options accommodate user preferences and enable additional comfort.

The XTR's light trigger pull enables users to apply single or plural component coatings comfortably without compromising high-pressure output. The XTR also features larger fluid passages, which reduce pressure-drop and help ensure consistent spraying.

Operator safety features. Operator safety is a critical issue when working with high-solids coatings at extreme pressures. The XTR features a trigger guard and lock, which reduces errors and helps prevent injuries caused by accidental triggering.

The XTR is available on Graco's Xtreme(TM) Mix systems and Xtreme pumps, and can be used with most pumps on the market.
