Norgren Introduces New 3-Way Process Control Solenoid Valve with Approval According IEC 61508 / SIL 4



Littleton, Colorado, USA - April 2005. Norgren, the motion and fluid control specialist, has introduced a new series of control valves ideally suited for the harsh operating environments of the chemical and process industries. The new 98000 series control valves feature a wide operating temperature range of -40°F to +176°F and the valves are offered with a 8mm orifice that fills a requirement within these industries. Designed to make a real difference the new 3/2 way control valves operate without lubrication which has a beneficial effect on the reliability of operation.

The process industry imposes specific demands with regards to equipment utilized within it. To this end the 98000 series has been type tested to IEC 61508 and is certified to safety integrity level 4. The devices are available with a wide range of protection class solenoids such as IP65, EEx me, EEx md and NEMA 4 and are CSA and FM approved with metal housing for outdoor implementation.
