Galil Motion Control Releases New Software Package for Latest PCI and Ethernet/RS232 Controllers
Galil has just released new software package, GalilTools, enabling easy set-up, tuning and analysis of their Ethernet/RS232 and PCI motion controllers. The entire package is priced at $195 and replaces Galil's WSDK software for new controllers.
GalilTools features include:
o Scope, Tuner, Watch, Terminal and Editor tools, all which can be displayed on a single screen or separately.
o The Scope Tool can capture hundreds and various types of data items automatically or on a rising or falling edge trigger. This includes I/O states, actual position, commanded position, error, torque, analog inputs and more.
o Eight channels of data can be displayed simultaneously, and the user is able to switch channels to view additional data captured during the same time period.
o The Tuner Tool automatically finds and selects the best PID values to ensure optimal servo system response. It allows for quick and easy servo tuning when used with the Scope Tool which displays the step response of the actual and commanded motor position.
o The Watch Tool displays controller data and I/O status in a tabular format and can be sorted alphabetically or by axis for easy viewing. Plus, scale factors and units display data in a convenient format such as volts for analog data.
