Weighing only 32 pounds, the saw is easy to transport, yet its die-cast aluminum base and wide footprint provide strength and stability. The saw offers miter angle cuts from zero to 47°, with time-saving precision stops at 15°, 22.5°, 30° and 45° and will cut a bevel from zero to 45° and is ideal for mitering wood for trim carpentry.

The KGS 255's 9 amp motor drives the 8-1/2" blade, with standard 5/8" arbor, at a no-load speed of 4800 rpm. The cutting capacity is 2-5/8" deep across a 10" width at 90°, and 1-1/2" deep across a 6-7/8" width with a 45° bevel. The slide mechanism uses ball bearings to provide smooth operation. Black numbers against a silver background provide an easy-to-read scale. The sliding saw offers a unique through-the-base dust collection system unlike the typical hooded approach, and is compatible with 1-5/8" and 2-1/4" vacuum hoses as well as with 4" dust collection systems.

The saw's slide rails are protected from damage by a unique aluminum cover. Other unique features include an integrated saw blade lock and tool that makes blade changes simple and quick, as well as a cord clip that keeps the power cord away from the work area. A lockout feature is incorporated into the power switch. The saw is furnished with a 40-tooth carbide blade. A folding table, left-side 5-foot extension with fence and stops and right-side 5-foot extension with fence and stops are also available.
