Metabo Expands Line of Choice Cuts(TM) Cut-Off Wheels with New Slicer Wheel for Extreme Cutting Applications

West Chester, PA, April 2004 - Metabo Corporation, a leading international manufacturer of professional grade portable electric power tools and abrasives for industrial, construction and welding applications, has expanded its Choice Cuts(TM) line of job-matched cut-off wheels with a new aluminum oxide Type 1 cut-off wheel for extreme cutting applications. The new Super-Slicer wheel provides maximum performance through increased cutting speed and minimal burr when cutting extremely hard and heavy gauge metals, such as stainless or abrasion resistant steels, high-tensile alloys, chrome, and hastelloy.

Available in 4-1/2" and 6" versions, the new Super-Slicer is a .045" thick rigid cutting wheel coated with a blended, high performance grain that provides an up to 300% increase in wheel life over previous blends as well as faster and more cost-efficient metal cutting. Additionally, the new wheels are specially formulated to leave no contaminants behind, such as sulfur, carbon or chlorine, that could impact a weld.

Metabo's Choice Cuts Super-Slicer wheels address the unique challenges encountered when cutting extremely hard steel. The enhanced design helps to reduce tool vibration during operation and increase cutting efficiency, resulting in decreased operator fatigue.

Choice Cuts is Metabo's family of slicer wheels designed to provide the optimum combination of abrasives, resin, and blade thickness for individual applications, ensuring increased wheel life and improved cutting speed. The slicer wheels in the Choice Cuts family span a broad range of applications from general purpose to larger diameter metals and stainless steels. Users can select the most cost-effective wheel for their specific application.
