Sipex PowerBlox(TM) Designed into Goldentek Integrated Access Device

PowerBlox(TM) Integrated DMOS Regulators Provide Key Power Conversion and Regulation

MILPITAS, Calif., April 10 / / -- Sipex Corporation today announced the implementation of their PowerBlox(TM) regulator ICs into Goldentek Network Technology's networking systems integration power boards. Goldentek has designed-in the Sipex PowerBlox(TM) integrated DMOS regulators as the key power conversion and regulation core for Goldentek's new Nimo Integrated Access Device (IAD). The Nimo IAD provides superior speech quality over the present broadband network infrastructure.

Goldentek's Department Head, Huo Wei, said, "Our Nimo IAD family, is a real-time data/voice transmission device, which will become the next generation of global VOIP terminal products. The Sipex PowerBlox(TM) with integrated DMOS switch technology, simplifies the DC/DC design effort, reduces PCB area, and minimizes heat dissipation when converting our high-voltage input to the low-voltage power distribution bus in our IAD. Sipex's local technical support provided us with a complete solution, including the linear regulator and RS232 interface port design-in support."

"We are pleased to have the opportunity to provide Goldentek with a complete system power and interface solution for their Nimo IAD, which includes the SP7652 8A PowerBlox(TM) DC/DC regulator, SPX5205, SPX3819, and SP6213 linear regulators, as well as our RS-232 interface technology. The PowerBlox(TM) family of DC/DC regulator ICs is fully-enhanced for low duty cycle conversions, such as those found when powering low-voltage digital semiconductors directly from higher DC input voltages," said Rick Hawron, Senior VP of International Sales for Sipex. "As the increasing adoption of IP telephony opens up new opportunities for voice and data service providers and systems integrators, Sipex intends to play a key role in support of system hardware developments in the IAD market."
