Electro Standards Laboratories (ESL), Cranston, RI, has just announced its new QuickSwitch® Model 6270 Fiber Optic SC Duplex A/B Mirror Switch with Remote Serial Control. The Model 6270 allows access to either of two SC Duplex Fiber Optic networks from one computer connected to an SC Duplex COMMON port. This switch features a MEMS-based (Micro Electro Mechanical System) multimode mirror switch.

This versatile switch can be controlled manually or remotely. The insertion losses are less than 1.0 dB. The switched Fiber Optic SC Duplex ports are transparent to data and speed. The switch retains its current position in the event of a power failure.
