New Generation Rotary Tables for Multi-Tasking Machining Centers to be Displayed at IMTS 2002 from LMC Workholding
Three new LMC Workholding (Logansport, IN) rotary tables that deliver best-in-class combination of both torque and speed for large multi-tasking machining centers will be introduced in booth E2727 at IMTS 2002, (September 4-11 at Chicago's McCormick Place).
The new MMK EDC 400 features a direct drive motor for maintenance free operation. As a result of gearless operation, the EDC 400 features zero-backlash positioning and 5 arc-sec accuracy. Ideal for high volume or aerospace production, the tables deliver high speed (180 RPM) and high torque (maximum machining force of 694 N-m).
The new MMK MDVVi 346 utilizes two synchronized servo motors that drive a special OTT worm gear. The rotary table delivers the high speed (200 RPM), high torque (500 N-m) and rapid response machining needed in the manufacture of complex parts like turbine blades and compressor scrolls.
A third rotary table for submerged EDM machining will also be introduced at IMTS.
New at IMTS is another line of LMC Workholding products for turning applications. The complete line of Atling steady rests is now available in the United States from LMC and a number of models will be on display. Atling steady rests support long and/or slender bar stock and offer improved turning accuracy and repeatability.
