Non-Contacting Rotary Sensor Measures Just 13 x 20 mm

Based on proprietary technology, Novotechnik has developed the RSC 1300 series of miniature non-contact sensors for use in robotics, medical devices, scientific instrumentation and other applications that require dependability and precision in the smallest possible package.

The sensor is based on vertical Hall technology but with a unique cross structure that is affixed to a silicon chip to provide 360º measurements with 10-bit resolution. The RSC 1300 series of miniature sensors support a maximum rotating speed of 10,000 rpm with a sample rate of 10,000 kHz. Other key specifications for the RSC 1300 series include independent linearity to ± 0.3% and repeatability to 0.1% of signal range. RSC 1300 sensors are sealed to IP 65 to support dependable operation in harsh environments. Housing is stainless steel and physical dimensions are 0.51" diameter x 0.8" body length.

RSC 1300 Series non-contact rotary sensors are available with a wide range of options including: analog, incremental, SPI, SSI, and PWM outputs; custom shaft designs; and customer specific cabling.
