Users of MT2500 and MTG2500 Products Can Stay Current With ScanBay Software Delivery on the Snap-on Dealer's Van Lincolnshire, III., July 20, 2004 - In a departure from industry practice, Snap-on is proud to introduce an upgrade path for its popular diagnostic system, the MT2500 series Snap-on Scanner(TM) that has been the industry leader for 15 years and the MTG2500 Color Graphing Scanner(TM), while debuting their first new dedicated scan tool since 1989, the SOLUS(TM) Scanner(TM) (EESC310A). The Snap-on Vehicle Communication Interface (MT2500VCI3) and Fast-Track® Troubleshooter Interface (MT2500TSI5) are the first cartridges for the MT2500 Series product line that feature flash, or reprogrammable, memory capability that allows customers and technicians to remain abreast of evolving vehicle information and communications protocols. Built on state-of-the-art technology, the Vehicle Communication Interface delivers far greater capacity, allowing Snap-on to deliver all six of their Vehicle Communication Software titles on the single cartridge format. The MT2500VCI3 model comes standard with the new 2003 Domestic Vehicle Communication Software - adding two new model years of enhanced coverage. Coverage also includes the latest Asian Vehicle Communication Software, which is retroactive to 1983, and Global OBD Vehicle Communication Software, which allows access to all nine OBD II modes, including vehicles using the Controller Area Network (CAN) protocol. The MT2500TSI5 Fast-Track® Troubleshooter Interface combines all five Fast-Track Troubleshooter titles from Snap-on. The interface provides technicians access to more than 50,000 unique, real-world repair tips for Domestic and Asian Import engine, transmission, and anti-lock brake systems. Fast-Track Troubleshooter is the industry's only information system that integrates live instrumentation to diagnose codes, code set conditions and Fast-Track® data scan tips with expected data values.
