Remote Diagnostics and Programming “Evolves Again”, Thinkcar Reports

Remote diagnostic tools have been around the automotive aftermarket for about 4- 5 years now, however, the newest tool to hit the scene in 2023 is going to ramp up the evolution of diagnostics and programming yet again, according to Thinkcar.

The new Thinkcar Thinktool range which includes the X10S and X5 both offer streamlined remote diagnostics, but now also advanced video and voice guidance capabilities that ensure an even quicker fault to fix for automotive technicians.

Thinkcar UK sees the Thinktool X10S and the X5 as the ultimate ‘’phone a friend’’ diagnostic systems for the provision of quick and easy diagnostics and repairs.

A Thinkcar spokesperson said: “Thinkcar provides market-leading multi-brand diagnostics, as well as remote programming for a vast range of brands and makes, ultimately ensuring technicians can fix more vehicles, quickly and easily, with the backing of a team of expert remote technicians.

“The X10S offers online programming for multiple brands including VAG, Mercedes, BMW, Jag/Land Rover, Nissan/Hyundai as well as online functionality for Ford and other brands.

“Using the X10S on Volkswagen, Audi, Seat, and Skoda, a check of the vehicle can be conducted for software updates.

“A reflash of the same software version, or an updated version can also be performed.

“This is particularly useful on VAG if it is suspected that the vehicle has a dubious remap and a confirmation of the current software installed is required.”

The X5 is perfect as an all-makes tool, but without the online functionality of its parent X10S.

X5 is the perfect addition for workshops who wish to only access the Thinkcar UK advanced remote network.

The X5 edition is also the perfect Bodyshop tool as it allows for pre and post-scans on all vehicles, including doip-based vehicles, as well as the ability to use the remote tool for programming new radars and other advanced jobs.

The Remote Technician team at Thinkcar UK are all specialist technicians with a wealth of experience who use the Thinkcar range on a daily basis.

Each specialist has been picked for a unique area of automotive expertise.

The spokesperson added: “Users simply click on the on-screen remote icon and select their desired Thinkcar Remote technician.

“Direct messages can be sent to the Thinkcar Remote technician to provide details about the job requirement.

“A job fee will be arranged, and then work can begin – the Thinkcar Remote Technician will then program or diagnose your vehicle remotely from its various UK-based locations, all whilst the technician gets on with another job.

“The tool should be hardwired to the internet, and a battery support unit set up whilst the job is underway.

“The Thinkcar Remote Technician will notify the garage once work is completed, with a repair report.”
