Rack System provides mobile pallet storage.

Press Release Summary:

PushBack Rack System is based on the use of overriding, wheeled pallet carts that travel on slightly canted rails, allowing carts to roll forward to front of bay. System configurations range from 2 to 6 pallet positions deep, with variable bay widths to accommodate single-wide or double-wide pallet rows. Upright frame is 1-piece construction, made from 50,000 psi steel, with horizontal and diagonal braces MIG-welded to posts.

SpaceRak(R)'s PushBack System Offers High-Density Mobile Pallet Storage

Marysville, MI - SpaceRak®, a leading manufacturer of steel storage rack systems, announces the availability of its PushBack rack system, which combines the pallet storage capacity of a drive-in system with the easy access of a selective system. PushBack racks can provide the same high-density storage as drive-in systems with the added advantage of easier load access. All pallets are stored or retrieved directly from an aisle. The PushBack system is based on the use of overriding, wheeled pallet
carts that travel on slightly canted rails, allowing carts to roll forward to the front of the bay. Thus, loads are always accessed from the aisle: forklifts need not enter the rack bay. The PushBack's combination of high-density storage and easy aisle access makes it a boon to last-in, first-out inventory
flow. It's great for businesses with fast throughput, such as consumer goods, or those whose inventory has a medium to long shelf life, such as frozen foods. System configurations can range from two to six pallet positions deep, with variable bay widths to accommodate single-wide or double-wide pallet rows.

Saving Space, Time Equals Saving Money

The SpaceRak PushBack rack system offers economic advantages over selective rack, double-deep selective and drive-in systems. A typical 4-deep PushBack system provides up to 75% more pallet storage than a selective rack occupying the same square footage of valuable floor space. A PushBack system doesn't need the wider aisles or expensive reach trucks required in double-deep
selective rack systems. This allows for faster product put-away and retrieval, and a full-view operating environment. PushBack is safer and more flexible than drive-in systems. Safer because the forklift operator needn't risk rack damage by entering the rack structure. More flexible because unlike drive-in systems, different SKUs (Stock Keeping Unit) may be stored on each level, and remain fully accessible.

Solid Construction

The upright frame of the SpaceRak PushBack is one-piece construction, made from 50,000 psi steel, with horizontal and diagonal braces MIG-welded to posts for optimum strength and rigidity. Several post styles are available, each in multiple gauges. The crossbeams are structural C-channel, fully welded tubular or formed step beams with welded connectors. Depending on post style, these connectors can be secured to the upright by either keyhole or bolted-on connection. Heavy-duty 3" structural C-channel tracks provide support for carts and pallet loads. Truck spacing and rigidity are assured by 2" structural steel angle cross members. The track assembly is an integral all-welded unit, precision-jigged at the factory.
