IBM 4U Rackmount SCSI Tape Enclosure
This IBM 4U Rackmount SCSI Tape Enclosure is designed to increase tape drive rack density. It supports four full-high or six half-high drives, and these drives can be intermixed as needed. The drives mount directly to the enclosure option. The 4U tape enclosure can be shared between six servers. This tape enclosure option provides customer flexibility to meet growing backup storage requirements in a rack configuration. This modular, high-density tape option is ideal for creating cost-effective tape backup solutions to satisfy moderate to high-capacity data storage requirements across multiple servers. While primarily designed for high-end xSeries servers, this option is also supported on entry and midrange products in these servers. This high-density, modular tape enclosure is available in rack version only. Each enclosure unit contains a 300W power supply and electronics logic.
