Graco Introduces First Polyurea-Dedicated Proportioner in an Easy-to-Use System

Digital controls and diagnostics improve application accuracy

MINNEAPOLIS - December 6, 2002 -Since polyurea's inception, contractors and material suppliers have been limited to applying it with modified foam-spraying equipment, which is not optimized for polyurea applications. To meet the high-temperature, high-pressure demands of polyurea applications, Graco (NYSE: GGG) has announced the Reactor(TM) E-XP, the first polyurea-dedicated proportioner. Built-in diagnostics provide ratio assurance, easing operator use, and its lightweight design gives users unprecedented job-site mobility.

"The polyurea industry has been forced to use spray equipment that was originally designed for foam applications," said Brian Zumbolo, worldwide product marketing manager, Protective Coatings Equipment, Graco. "Polyurea has its own very specific application requirements that are critical to coating quality. We designed the Reactor to meet polyurea's unique challenges, giving users of all experience levels assurance the coating was applied correctly."

Field-tested. "The Reactor is the next generation of polyurea delivery systems," said Joe Haydu, vice president of field services, VersaFlex. "Graco created a proportioner with a compact and functional design with a smooth, consistent electric pump that keeps pressures within 50 psi."

Improved performance. The Reactor's easy-to-use controls and integrated monitoring capabilities take the guesswork out of polyurea applications. Featuring Graco Smart Mix(TM) controls, the Reactor provides operators system diagnostics, auto shutdown and data reporting. Its digital controls and improved temperature-sensing capabilities provide accurate heating. Digital pressure control, reduced pulsation, improved pump loading and balanced feed pressures make the Reactor the ultimate polyurea metering system. The improved application controls result in ratio assurance, superior mix accuracy and, ultimately, better quality.

The Reactor is part of Graco's complete polyurea proportioning system. The Fusion(TM) gun, new electric heated hose, supply pumps, and accessories round out the state-of-the-art package. The easy-to-use design of the Fusion plural-component air-purge spray gun reduces maintenance, improves mixing and decreases downtime.

Graco Inc. supplies technology and expertise for the management of fluids in both industrial and commercial applications.
