Original Press Release:

New SmartPress (TM) Two-Wire Pressure Transmitters Offer Novel Combination of Features, Advantages, Options, and Economy

Available with the only 10-YEAR WARRANTY in the industry ... SmartPress is ideal for a
wide range of pressure as well as liquid level measurements.

SOUTHAMPTON, PA - Princo Instruments, Inc., a well-respected, long-time manufacturer and supplier of highly reliable instruments, has released its new SmartPress Model LP-D pressure/liquid level transmitters. Designed in conjunction with process engineers and users, these transmitters provide a combination of the features, advantages, and options that make them ideal for a wide range of pressure and liquid level measurement applications. They are available with a unique 10-year warranty - the longest warranty in the industry - based on their robust, highly reliable design. They are attractively priced, under $800.00, in quantity.

The two-wire, loop powered transmitters provide simple push button programming - making them exceptionally easy to install and setup. They can also be supplied pre-calibrated by the factory at no additional cost - a special Princo feature. An optional plug in programming/display module - which can be moved from unit to unit - provides full setup and display capability at the unit with a 6-digit LCD, engineering units, and bargraph display. Optional HART® communications makes remote setup and access possible. The units offer damping from 0 to 20 seconds to help avoid spurious alarms.

The units provide 0.25% accuracy in 19 available pressure ranges from -14.5 to 5800 PSI, their wide temperature range and high overload capacity makes them extremely attractive in materials processing applications. They feature 316 stainless steel flush diaphragms and a variety of process connections including 1" NPT and several Triclamp® sizes.

The flush diaphragm helps prevent buildup of the process material and allows clean-in-pl (CIP) cleanup as required in food processing and other sanitary applications. The flush diaphragm protects the unit's piezoresistive sensor, utilizing pressure transfer silicone oil between the diaphragm and the sensor; food grade oil is also available as an option.

With their CIP capability, the units are ideal for food and beverage processing and production, breweries, and Pharmaceuticals. They also provide advantages in pulp and paper processing, water and wastewater treatment applications, power plants, chemical and petrochemical processing, mining, laboratory equipment, packaging, and OEM applications.

When used for liquid level sensing, the unit measures the hydrostatic pressure and compares the liquid head pressure with the actual atmospheric pressure. The specific gravity of the material being measured can be directly programmed into the unit, making setup fast and easy, and helping ensure the accuracy of measurements.

The units operate over a wide temperature range: -40° to +158°F (-40° to +70°C) ambient and -13° to +257°F (-25° to +125°C) for process materials. With the plug-in display module, the units operate over -13° to +158°F (-25° to +70°C) ambient.
The units are provided in IP65/NEMA 4X housings - either epoxy-painted aluminum or plastic. EEx ATEX I.S. certified models are available.

Units are available from stock. For more information and technical specifications, contact Janet Turner, Princo Instruments, Inc., 1020 Industrial Boulevard, Southampton, PA 18966.
