Original Press Release:

New Power Lathe Chuck ROTA NCO

SCHUNK Inc. introduces a new power lathe chuck known as ROTA NCO specifically designed for vertical turning centers where contaminants are a hindrance to process reliability. The Rota NCO offers both high clamping forces and long jaw stroke packaged in the lowest profile chuck body available, giving the user both versatility and tool clearance.

Sealed to eliminate encroachment of chips and swarf with standard options for automated part recognition in unmanned operations, the Rota NCO is also available with media feed-through capabilities, i.e. coolant, air and oil. The maintenance costs can also be nearly eliminated by a central lubrication option.

Clamping force ranges from 95 kN to 330 kN with jaw strokes ranging from 9 mm to 15 mm per jaw, making this chuck powerful and versatile. With the low profile design, shorter acceleration and deceleration ROTA NCO improves cylce time thus increasing machine utilization. Sizes ranging from 165 mm to 500 mm are available.
