Position Feedback Cylinder Now Available with Integral Rod Lock
Monee, Illinois - Bimba Manufacturing Company is pleased to announce the immediate availability of their new Position Feedback Cylinder with Integral Rod Lock, Model PFCL- in five bore sizes. When used in conjunction with the PCS pneumatic position control system, the rod lock can be used to offer a highly repeatable, precise hard stop once the actuator reaches the desired position. If a less accurate position is required, the system can be used in conjunction with a 3 position, 5 way directional control valve for positioning, and engaging the rod lock for a final mid-position hard stop.
The PFCL incorporates a clamp/cam device to hold the piston rod in position upon loss of air pressure. Its simple and effective design provides a low-cost, reliable locking cylinder. Holding forces range from 90 pounds in a 1-1/16" bore cylinder, to 700 pounds in the 3" bore. The rod lock offers a very cost effective positive, rigid, mid-position stop. It is intended to be used as a static locking device, which can be applied once the piston rod is in the stopped position. Application examples include: o Variable press (allowing clamping at a variable position), flow gate (adjustable diverter for conveying), work table (different heights for ergonomics), and bar feed (feed-clamp applications).
