Rhino Introduces SolarMax® 11-70 Color Stable Polyurea
New formulation improves weatherability and reduces price in the process..
SAN DIEGO -- Rhino Linings Corporation, a leader in protective coatings, announces the release of SolarMax 11-70, a pure polyurea aliphatic coating that is UV and color stable, and highly resistant to humidity and substrate moisture during application.
SolarMax 11-70 is a 100% solids (zero VOC) high pressure spray-applied polyurea coating that is ideal for industrial and consumer applications where color and gloss retention are critical.
The polyurea/polyaspartic chemistry behind SolarMax 11-70 allows the coating to be sprayed in hot and dry climates as well as high humidity climates without foaming or blistering. Thanks to its dense chemistry, it resists the effects of wind-driven rain, salts and most chemicals.
"We know that our success in the industrial sector comes from providing high-quality products and professional applications that deliver lasting, innovative and effective solutions for customers." said Pierre Gagnon, CEO and President of Rhino Linings Corporation. "We listen to our customers and work to develop the right product for their environmental and application conditions."
Solar Max 11-70 combines the durability of a tough elastomer with the color and gloss stability of a UV top coat into one product without the need for touch ups. Used on a properly prepared substrate, SolarMax 11-70 will protect steel, concrete, geotextile, foam, wood or aged polyester fiberglass (FRP). In these applications, the coating can be used as a single coat application or as a thin mil top coat for aromatic urethanes and polyureas.
The product is applied in a single coat, multi-pass application and cures to the touch within 30 seconds. The cured film provides excellent resistance to mechanical impact, abrasion and long-term corrosion. Its physical properties include 70 shore D hardness, 20% elongation and 3400 psi tensile strength.
