Prolite® Polypropylene Tubing Offers an Alternative to More-Costly Fluoropolymer Tubing

Meets FDA Requirements for Food Contact Surfaces

Southampton, PA - Lightweight Prolite polypropylene tubing from NewAge® Industries provides a low-cost option for applications requiring cleanliness, good surface hardness, dimensional stability, and a high strength-to-weight ratio. While its most common application is food and beverage processing, including potable water, other uses include chemical lines; pharmaceutical processing; personal care product components; semiconductor manufacturing; electronic equipment and appliances; automotive uses; and general fluid and air transfer.

Many of Prolite's properties-excellent chemical resistance, low moisture absorption, high dielectric strength, resistance to corrosion, and low surface friction-are similar to those of PTFE fluoropolymer tubing. The combination of Prolite's properties and its lower cost allow it to be an alternative to PTFE in many applications. Polypropylene tubing can, in fact, cost up to twenty-six times less than PTFE tubing. Polypropylene also has a lower temperature resistance, making it easier to weld or bond.

Another Prolite benefit is its light weight. Polypropylene is the lightest of all thermoplastic materials available today. This offers a distinct advantage for portable equipment applications, such as personal care appliances, or other devices where component weight is a concern.

NewAge® Industries stocks Prolite polypropylene tubing for same-day shipment in ten sizes from 1/8" to 1" I.D., along with accompanying push-to-connect fittings. Custom sizes, repetitive cutting, coiling, heat-formed shapes, and colors (other than its natural cloudy-white) are also available.
