Phosphopeptide Enrichment Kit comes with necessary controls.

Press Release Summary:

Using technology based on Ga+3 chelate on silica, PhosphoProfile(TM) I offers proteomics researchers advantages such as low non-specific binding, no bias in selectivity of phosphorylation state, maximum sensitivity, and accelerated sample handling. Phosphoproteins are digested with included Proteomics Grade Trypsin, resulting in phosphopeptides captured in spin-tubes. Up to 25 nanomoles of phosphopeptide can be captured and recovered from complex samples.

Sigma-Aldrich Launches New PhosphoProfile(TM) I Phosphopeptide Enrichment Kit

ST. LOUIS, Sept. 11 -- Sigma-Aldrich Research Biotech, a division of Sigma-Aldrich (NASDAQ:SIAL), has launched the PhosphoProfile(TM) I Phosphopeptide Enrichment Kit, a new kit for the enrichment of phosphopeptides.

"This launch of the new phosphopeptide enrichment kit demonstrates Sigma-Aldrich's commitment to develop and offer cutting-edge proteomic technologies," said George Lipscomb, Product Manager, Proteomics, for Sigma-Aldrich's Research Biotech division. "We are proud to further enable the discovery and success of researchers through innovative technologies and service."

The technology is based on a novel Ga+3 chelate on silica that provides a robust method for phosphoproteomics. This new approach offers several advantages to proteomics researchers, including very low non-specific binding, no bias in selectivity of phosphorylation state, high sensitivity, and fast sample handling, especially for small precious samples. Phosphoproteins are digested with the included Proteomics Grade Trypsin, resulting in high-quality phosphopeptides that are captured in the convenient spin-tubes. Recovered phosphopeptides are then ready for analysis by either MALDI-TOF or ESI mass spectrometry. Up to 25 nanomoles of phosphopeptide can be captured and recovered from complex samples. Also included are the necessary buffers and mono and tetra phosphopeptide controls commonly used to verify performance eliminating the requirement of additional purchases and risk of data misinterpretation.
