Two New Types Of Pem® Self-Clinching Panel Fasteners Enable Easy Access To Components After Assembly

DANBORO, PA, July 12, 2002 -- Two new types of PEM® self-clinching panel fasteners introduced by PEM® Fastening Systems are designed to enable easy access to components subsequent to assembly. Ideal for attaching thin metal panels, these fasteners feature a captive-screw design to keep hardware to a minimum, promote quicker installation, and eliminate any risk of loose parts falling out and damaging components.

New Type PF13(TM) panel fasteners (with knurled knobs) and Type PF14(TM) panel fasteners (without knurled knobs) are complete spring-loaded panel fastener assemblies for use in aluminum or steel sheets as thin as .036"/0.92 mm. They are available in three screw lengths and in thread sizes #4-40 through 1/4-20 and M3 through M6 and can be ordered with a durable black finish to meet front-panel cosmetic requirements.

The panel fasteners are installed simply by inserting them into properly sized punched or drilled holes and pressing them into place using any standard press. The side opposite installation will remain flush. Both types feature a universal slot/Phillips drive as standard with other drives available. The large knurled knob on Type PF13 fasteners allows for finger operation.

These new self-clinching panel fasteners join a complete family of PEM threaded access hardware products.
