Output Modules allow remote monitoring with no field wiring.

Press Release Summary:

Analog, Digital, and Analog/Digital Output Modules allow users to integrate wireless monitoring instrumentation into existing control systems. Base Radio accessories transmit analog or digital outputs from remote locations to data acquisition systems without external power or signal wire installation. Analog modules provide four 4-20 mA analog outputs, while digital modules offer 8 switch-closure outputs. Analog/digital modules provide capability of both.

Accutech Expands Wireless Process Instrumentation Line; Introduces Analog, Digital & Analog/Digital Output Modules

Remote Monitoring of Equipment & Process Conditions With No Field Wiring

HUDSON, MA (July 26, 2004) - Complementing their comprehensive line of integrated wireless field units, Accutech has introduced a new line of analog, digital and analog/digital output modules. These new output modules enable processors to remotely monitor equipment and process conditions with absolutely no field wiring. Typical installed cost savings are
claimed to be 90% less when compared to conventional wired devices or transmitters.

These new modules allow users to integrate wireless monitoring instrumentation into existing control systems for a multitude of applications. Among them are petrochemical and chemical
processing applications as well as refining, rubber, oil and gas production, municipal water treatment and food and beverage facilities.

According to the company, the analog or digital units, sold as Base Radio accessories, transmit either analog (mA or Volts) or digital outputs from remote locations to data acquisition systems without external power or signal wire installation. Available in 3 packages, the analog output modules provide four 4-20 mA analog outputs and the digital output modules provide 8 switch closure outputs, which report the conditions of the input switches and the status of the field units.

The combined analog/digital output modules provide the capability of both (four 4-20 mA analog outputs and 8 digital switch closure outputs). The output modules also allow users to
integrate wireless monitoring instruments into an existing control system.

A single Base Radio can drive up to 25 output modules, generating as many as 100 analog outputs and 200 switch closures. Output modules are DIN rail mounted, feature LED power
indicators and provide fail-safe condition features.

Other units comprising the Accutech wireless system include those for monitoring temperature, pressure, flow, level and acoustical (i.e. steam trap monitoring) applications. All units are robust, utilize secure frequency-hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) technology and are designed for hazardous industrial applications. Complete systems can be purchased for less than S 2,500. In addition, installed costs for a wired system are said to be ten times more than a wireless system, in similar applications.

Accutech is known for offering a broad range of microprocessor measurement, monitoring, and control instrumentation (called Smart Process Instrumentation) for a wide range of industries
including refining, petrochemicals, chemicals, plastics, oil and gas production, municipal water treatment, food and beverage, pharmaceutical and others. Their extensive experience in robust instrumentation has been applied to the industry's first line of packaged wireless monitoring solutions.
