Online Development's xCoupler Wows Attendees at Allen-Bradley Automation Fair 2005

Knoxville, TN - For two consecutive days, attendees stood in line at Online Development's booth to participate in a hands-on demonstration of the company's xCoupler enterprise transaction module at the Allen-Bradley Automation Fair, November 16 and 17 in St. Louis, MO. Using laptop computers, Allen-Bradley ControlLogix PLCs and several popular servers, Online Development personnel showed attendees in real-time the speed and ease an xCoupler module configures data between plant devices and enterprise servers compared to any other method available.

xCoupler modules are designed to snap into the backplane of Allen-Bradley® ControlLogix® PLCs to exchange data between plant devices such as sensors, robots, actuators and barcode scanners, and popular enterprise server platforms such as those from IBM, Oracle and Microsoft. This module is a first in the series of modules that eliminate complex and costly PC-based interfaces that are commonly used to transfer data.

According to Ron Monday, President and CEO of Online Development, "This event made true believers out of engineers looking for an easier way to exchange plant floor data with enterprise servers. More than one of the hundreds of people that visited our booth commented that the xCoupler module will help them more easily comply with their company's increasing demands for the seamless and secure flow of enterprise data without the hazards of multi-tier solutions."

According to ARC Advisory Group Research Director Craig Resnick who attended the event, " This capability is critical, as each process provides a vital link for Real-time Performance Management, which uses dynamic performance targets to drive an enterprise to reach its optimum potential and achieve competitive advantage."
