Original Press Release:

Compact Laser Sensor for Industrial Series Applications

The new optoNCDT 1220 laser sensor series from Micro-Epsilon represents distance measuring sensors with integrated controller. Measuring rates up to 1 kHz and a repeatability from 1 µm ensure reliable measurements. These laser sensors are equipped with an analog output and a digital RS422 interface. Moreover, they offer the best price/performance ratio in their class.

The optoNCDT 1220 laser sensors offer a unique combination of design, versatility and measurement accuracy. Its high repeatability and an adjustable measuring rate make the laser sensor ideally suited to precise measurements. The Active Surface Compensation (ASC) provides stable distance signal control regardless of target color or brightness.

Conventional laser displacement sensors are usually equipped with an external controller which must be installed in the control cabinet. In contrast, the optoNCDT 1220 comes with an integrated controller, i.e. data processing and output are carried out directly in the sensor. Therefore, the sensor can be directly connected to the production control.

With their compact and lightweight design, the optoNCDT 1220 sensors open up numerous fields of application. They are used, among other things, in 3D printing, automation, machine building, robotics and the automotive industry. Its robust design makes the sensor ideal for applications with high accelerations. This powerful sensor can be connected via an analog output or the digital RS422 interface.
