Schroff Introduces New RatiopacPRO Multi-Function Flexible System Case Designed to IEEE1101.10 Specifications

Warwick, RI, February 2003 - Schroff®, the global leader in electronic enclosure solutions, has introduced RatiopacPRO, a new series of space saving multi-functional system cases featuring integral EMC shielding. The new Schroff RatiopacPRO series, designed to IEEE1101.10 specifications, provide system designers with a wide range of economical enclosed 19" subrack solutions, is especially suitable for measurement, instrumentation, and control applications.

The use of a common internal framework for all RatiopacPRO cases enables designers to complete development of a system before selecting either a portable desktop case or 19" plug in unit. Users can select either space-optimized units (3U, 4U, or 6U) or units with integral ventilation (4U, 5U, or 7U).

The RatiopacPRO internal framework consists of extruded aluminum rails mounted between aluminum side panels and support brackets. Three different side panel designs are available, optimized for lightweight, high mechanical stress, or design flexibility. Basic units provide EMC attenuation of greater than 25 dB at 1 GHz, with increased EMC shielding available if required. The symmetric design of the RatiopacPRO series enables users to plug in modules from the front or back with out the removal of cover plates.

RatiopacPRO cases are designed to be consistent with current esthetic trends - painted gray with no exposed screw heads, they provide nearly seamless transitions between panels. Available case modifications include custom colors, panel cutouts, additional holes, silk-screening, and increased case depth (to 600 mm); most can be provided for as few as 25 pieces.

The new RatiopacPRO series builds on features Schroff introduced with the EuropacPRO series: injector/extractor handles for high plug-in/extraction forces, guide rails with coding for 19" boards, guide rail-mounted ESD clips to conduct electrostatic charge away, and board retention systems compliant with IEEE 1101.10/11.

The new Schroff RatiopacPRO series of multi-function system cases is available immediately. Contact Schroff for pricing.
