Multi-Channel RJ45 A/B Switch automatically senses data.

Press Release Summary:

Supplied in rackmount configuration, Model 7435 allows single-port RJ45 interface device to be connected to COMMON port among 2 other devices connected to A and B ports for each of 16 channels. User may configure port position, A or B, of individual channels manually, via GUI, or via programming. With latter, switch automatically controls position of individual channels by sensing incoming data on A/B ports every millisecond. Gold-clad, silver relays are used to pass switched signals.

Model 7435 Auto-Controlled 16-Channel A/B Switch Senses Data!

Electro Standards Laboratories, Cranston, RI, has just announced the Model 7435 Auto-Controlled 16-Channel RJ45 A/B Switch. This switch system in a compact Rackmount configuration allows sharing a single port RJ45 interface device connected to the COMMON port among two other devices connected to the A and B ports for each of the 16 channels. The user may configure the port position, A or B, of the individual channels manually, via the GUI or automatically via programming.

In the Automatic Mode, the Model 7435 controls the position of individual channels by sensing incoming data on ports A and B every millisecond. If no data is received on port A for a user-specified number of seconds, the unit will then check the current status of port B. If valid data is being received on port B, the appropriate channels will switch to B. If port B is also inactive, then those channels will remain in position A.

A Graphical User Interface panel allows manual control of the position of each channel individually. Pushbuttons allow gang switching all channels for a single unit or all channels for all units (global) that comprise the switching system.

This highly-reliable switch passes switched signals via gold clad silver relays that maintain their position and continuity in the event of a power loss. The remote port is 10/100 RJ45 Ethernet port. User setup allows assignment of an IP address for the switch unit. This switch features password/login security features.
