New High Performance Linear MOSFETs



Bend, Oregon... Advanced Power Technology (NASDAQ: APTI) is announcing new high power linear MOSFETs, the APL502 and APL602. These high performance linear MOSFETs have up to 30% higher
FBSOA, and up to 40% higher power dissipation capability than previously introduced linear MOSFET products.

The APL502 and APL602 linear MOSFETs will be available in TO-264, T-MAX(TM), and ISOTOP® (SOT-227) packages. Military screening and hermetic packaging options are also available.

Linear applications like electronic loads, linear regulators, or class A amplifiers, operate in the linear region and require high power dissipation and forward biased safe operating area (FBSOA). High power, high voltage MOSFETs optimized for switch mode applications can't provide the FBSOA and power dissipation needed for linear applications. The APL502 and APL602 devices are specifically designed to meet the requirements of linear applications and have 2 times the FBSOA capability of comparable switch-mode optimized MOSFETs. In addition, the 600V linear devices provide the headroom needed for 270Vdc aerospace applications such as Solid-State Power Controllers (SSPCs) that replace traditional electromechanical components in power switching and distribution systems.
