Omron Introduces World's Smallest MOS FET Relays

SCHAUMBURG, IL (June 26, 2002)-Omron's newest MOS FET relays, the LR family of the G3VM series, are the world's smallest MOS FETs. The LR family measures 1.8 x 3.8 x 2mm. Compared with using other electromechanical devices, the LR family allows customers to reduce the size of their board 40 to 60%. Its 1-form-A contact configuration features low power consumption (5mA LED trigger current). This low power provides cost savings.

The LR family's AC/DC switching enables versatility, and its input-output isolation of 1.5KVAC allows for better protection for the board. In addition, it provides small size and low, excellent ON resistance between 1 ohm and 5 ohms.

Applications for the LR family include ATE, test and measurement, RF applications and IT applications, including IP routers, DSLAM equipment, data storage, edge routers and Local Area Networks. The LR family is available for $2.75 for 10,000 pieces.
