Mitsubishi to Feature Range of Machining Technologies at EASTEC

Wood Dale, IL - MC Machinery will have a complement of metalcutting machines on hand at the upcoming EASTEC Eastern States Exposition, to be held May 14 to 16 in West Springfield, MA. These machines are representative of the high quality EDM, milling center and waterjet technologies available from MC Machinery’s wide range of industry-leading offerings.

On display will be an MCV 1000 machining center. The MCV Series is the ultimate value machine - a great general purpose machining center featuring an 8,000 RPM spindle and CAT 40 tooling. The MCV performs well in a wide variety of applications, including but not limited to fixtures, mold base and secondary operations. This line can also be equipped with a ZF Gearbox, giving it the ability to achieve four times the torque of a standard motor.

The MV2400-S Advance wire EDM will also be demonstrated at the show. This EDM features the new M700 series control with 15" touch screen, providing easy user interface. It also showcases Mitsubishi's continuous dedication to high precision through several new innovations, including a new non-contact Cylindrical Drive System. The MV Series features many new improvements in machine construction, auto-threading, internal machine communication, power supply technology and operating cost reduction. This truly is a revolution in wire EDM technology.

Also on hand will be the Mitsubishi EA8A Advance sinker EDM. This machine features the new M700 series control with 15” touch screen and FP80V energy saving power supply, reducing electrical consumption by 20% as compared to the previous FP model. The combination of the standard granite table and PS circuit provides fine satin surface finishing anywhere on the table surface.

Finally, Mitsubishi will display its fifth generation MWX4 waterjet machine, in this case, a MWX4 612 with 90,000 psi ultra high pressure KMT pump. This machine is the ultimate in multiple axes cutting, combining speed and precision for shops looking for accuracy and reliability. With the MWX4, Mitsubishi and MC Machinery introduce the new Taper Control System. This is a servo motor-driven system with greater A Axis tilt angle and unlimited rotating angle C Axis to allow for straighter parts in thicker material.

The MWX4 features the Mitsubishi M730 CNC controller with 3-Axis joystick positioning and full keyboard, and a standard Garnet Removal System. Metamation Software is included with True-Shape Nesting and CAD/CAM, and a submerged cutting system is built into the tank’s design.

“We look forward to the opportunity to introduce attendees to new technologies that stand to help them improve speed, accuracy, and ultimately, productivity,” said Nicolas Giannotte, vice president of EDM Waterjet. “EASTEC is a great place to exchange ideas and move the metalcutting industry forward through mutual learning.”
