VDM-EZ Makes High Magnification Video Inspection Easy and Affordable
September, 2004, Tempe, AZ - RAM Optical Instrumentation, Inc. (ROI) announces the VDM-EZ(TM), a compact microscope system that makes high magnification inspection easy and reliable through the use of RAM video technology. The VDM - Video Direct Microscope - eliminates the inexact method of peering into an eyepiece for several hours trying to inspect small or important details on complex parts.
Video imaging technology from RAM Optical presents high-resolution color images on a sharp 13" monitor for easy viewing by an individual or group. It is also an excellent tool for training inspection teams. This small footprint system simplifies important quality control assessments.
Two interchangeable lens options are available:
o The EDF (Extended Depth of Field) objective keeps detail in sharp focus. The part is magnified 16 times when a comfortable 6 inches from the lens. Bringing the part closer to the lens increases the magnification. Fiber optic on-axis illumination is included to optimize image quality.
o The 6.5:1 Zoom Objective is ideal for inspections across a range of magnifications. It magnifies from 25 to 150 times on a 13-inch monitor. Optional lens adapters can extend the range to 300 times. A fiber optic ring light is included to optimize image quality.
This small footprint system includes a sturdy metal stand with a built-in fiber optic backlight, Z focusing knob, high-resolution color CCD and fiber optic illuminator unit. The VDM-EZ is available with a number of options to enhance its versatility. The InSite controller increases inspection capability with its built-in crosshair generator and two fiber optic illuminators with front panel controls and integral 6.75-inch LCD. The optional BL-11 universal measuring stage adds basic measurement capability. A universal pillar stand and three auxiliary lenses are available.
