Metrology Wells combine speed and portability.

Press Release Summary:

Series 9140 Field Metrology Wells, specified over -25 to +661°C range, reach 660ºC in less than 15 min. Process versions have built-in reference thermometer readout that accepts reference probes with smart 6-pin DIN connectors and second channel measures resistance, voltage, or 4-20 mA current. Products also provides 24 V loop power for calibration of temperature transmitters. With every calibration, product can automate and document data from reference probe and unit under test.

New Field Metrology Wells from Hart Scientific Provide Maximum Speed and Portability for the Industrial Environment

Three models make temperature sensors and transmitter calibrations simple with built-in thermometer readout and onboard automation and documentation

AMERICAN FORK, UT - Hart Scientific, a division of Fluke Corporation and a world leader in temperature calibration products and services, announces the 9140 series Field Metrology Wells designed for optimum performance and functionality over the range of -25 °C to 661 °C.

Unlike traditional field dry-wells, the new Field Metrology Wells maximize speed and portability without compromising key metrology performance criteria such as stability to ± 0.01 ºC, radial uniformity to ± 0.01 ºC, axial uniformity at 40 mm to ± 0.04 ºC, loading to ± 0.006 ºC, and hysteresis to ± 0.015 ºC. These units weigh about 16 lbs. and will reach 660 ºC in less than 15 minutes.

The Field Metrology Well "process" option makes possible a turn-key solution for field calibration. Each process version has a built-in reference thermometer readout that will accept reference probes with smart 6-pin DIN connectors which store probe characterization in the connector. The built-in reference readout has a second channel which will measure resistance, voltage, or 4-20 mA current. The process version provides 24V loop power for calibration of temperature transmitters. With every calibration, the process version of Field Metrology Wells can automate and document as-found and as-left data from the reference probe and the unit under test.

Each unit has an LCD display and menu driven interface. Field Metrology Wells have a dedicated temperature set point and ºC/ºF buttons. Pre-programmed tasks and temperature points can easily be saved and recalled for route calibrations. All inputs and terminals are located on the front of the unit for easy access.

Fluke Corporation, Hart Scientific Division, designs, manufactures, and markets temperature measurement and calibration equipment. The Hart Scientific product line includes primary standards, thermometer readouts and probes, temperature baths, industrial calibrators and software. Primary and secondary laboratories, as well as a growing number of manufacturing companies who rely on precise temperature controls for manufacturing processes, use the equipment. These industries include pharmaceuticals, petrochemical, semi-conductor, aerospace, food products and others.
