A feeder and inspection conveyor package valued at $20,470 is being included at no additional charge with Manncorp's MC-391 in-line dual-head pick and place system. The bonus offer, effective through July 31, is the equivalent of a discount of almost 30% off the $69,995 sale price of the standard machine without the bonus options, reports CEO Henry Mann.
"The MC-391 is an example of how Manncorp successfully addresses the needs of our key market of mid-range assemblers," he states. "These customers, particularly those in the military and microwave sectors, want flexibility, precision, performance and value. They get it all with this specially priced 5,500 cph placer that for a limited time comes with an array of no-cost options that would ordinarily boost its price to near six-figures."
The bonus package includes a SMEMA-approved inspection conveyor with built-in board counter and skip function, used for post-placement inspection. In addition, buyers receive 31 feeders, consisting of a bank of 20 8mm feeders, plus a universal tube feeder with 10 slots, and a waffle tray.
Mann cites the MC-391 as being ideally configured for critical applications that require speed and accuracy. "These users want the flexibility of the 391's vision system, consisting of both a head-mounted camera with Cognex® processing for non-contact on-the-fly alignment of SMDs, from 0201s to 16mm x 24mm, plus a bottom vision camera for larger components to 38 x 38mm, as well as odd forms, ICs and large BGAs. Ultra fine pitch capability for QFPs and µBGAs is 012" (0,3mm). Placement accuracy of ± .002" (± .05mm) is made possible by the linear-encoded X-Y drive mechanism."
