Original Press Release:

Low-Profile LEDs Feature High Flux Over Wide-Angle

A new line of low-profile, high flux, through-hole LEDs that reduce the number of LEDs required to provide bright and uniform light distribution in aviation, automotive, marine, industrial, and emergency sign applications is being introduced by Gilway Technical Lamp of Woburn, Massachusetts.

Gilway SuperFlux LEDs feature water clear lenses and provide 7,000 mcd luminous intensity @70 mA current over a 65 or 85 degree viewing angle, depending upon version. Measuring only 7.62 mm sq. with a 4.4 mm high body, these low-profile, high flux, through-hole LEDs can be mounted close together in clusters to fit a wide variety of illumination applications.

Allowing designers to match the color to their application, Gilway SuperFlux LEDs respond one-fifth faster than incandescent bulbs for added safety in signaling applications. Colors include green, yellow, and orange that meet SAE/ECE/JIS requirements. They also feature solid-state benefits such as high shock-resistance and 100,000+ hours life.

Gilway SuperFlux LEDs are priced from $ 0.30 each, depending upon version and quantity. Literature, samples, and pricing are available on request.
