New 1504 Light-Duty Industrial PC now Available from XYCOM Automation

Saline, MI - June 24, 2004 - Xycom Automation, Inc., a subsidiary of Pro-face America, Inc. and a market leader in Industrial PCs, announces the new 1504 Light-Duty Industrial "Node" PC. This new "Node" PC provides a more cost-effective solution for industrial applications used in less stringent shock, vibration, and temperature conditions.

The 1504 offers a 6-slot passive backplane with 3 available expansion slots, including 1 full-length ISA, 1 full-length PCI, and 1 half-length PCI. The unit includes a 10/100 Base-T Ethernet controller, 2 USB 1.1 compliant ports, 2 RS-232 serial ports, parallel port, and PS/2 port for mouse and keyboard connections. The onboard video port uses up to 32 MB of system RAM for superior video performance. It has a 150 Watt AC power supply and comes standard with a CD-ROM, floppy, and Windows 2000. Optional CD-ROM or DVD upgrades and Windows XP are available. With its standard Intel® Celeron® 1200 MHz or optional Pentium® III 1.26 GHz the 1504 is well suited for most Light-Duty factory automation applications.

"Factories are becoming cleaner and more environmentally controlled. The traditional Heavy-Duty Industrial PCs that Xycom is known for are not always needed. Xycom is addressing this growing trend by increasing our Light-Duty offerings. With the 1504, industrial installations now have a lower priced industrial solution without resorting to a less rugged commercial PC," said Ralph Damato, Business Unit Manager of Industrial PC Products for Xycom Automation. "Look for an increasing number of Light-Duty offerings from Xycom Automation in the future," continues Damato.

The 1504 resembles a commercial tower with the look of a "shoebox", but designed for and built for industrial applications. With its metal case and included mounting brackets, the unit can be secured to a shelf or enclosure. The hinged cover and flip away drive bracket make access to expansion and hard drive replacement simple and quick. The 1504 includes UL, cUL, FCC and CE certifications. Unlike other industrial PC solutions, all Xycom Automation units are certified and listed as a complete unit not just a chassis.
